Ruth’s Keystone Café Opens:

Jim Positions His Dynamite Team,
Takes Keystone at the Crossing by Storm

Indianapolis (March 2006) – The restaurant owner who reinvented Café Nora and elevated Indy’s Northside cuisine to new heights, now has his sights set on a revered restaurant tradition, the breakfast and lunch coffeehouse.

Ruth’s Keystone Café opened in February at Keystone at the Crossing in Indianapolis, and Europeanized the traditional “coffeehouse” concept with approachable dining in a spectacular setting combining the technology driven lifestyle of the Northside professional, including wireless internet connection, and the warm beauty of European décor.

Located at the heart of Keystone at the Crossing, Ruth’s Keystone Café captures the essence of the laid back European dining experience, which Nethercott himself made popular with Café Nora, his earliest Indy restaurant which was honored by Indianapolis Monthly and Dine Magazine in 2003, 2004 and 2005 as one of the cities top restaurants. Elegant furnishings bring casual patio style of the professional Northside district of Indianapolis, complementing Chef John Adams’ cuisine perfectly.

“To develop a unique and creative new menu and present it in a bright new environment is very exciting for us,” says Jim. “With a growing reputation as one of the city’s most dynamic destinations, and our location across from the new Crate and Barrel store which opened last season at the Fashion Mall, Keystone at the Crossing is a perfect home for our newest concept.”

“The menu utilizes techniques and philosophies featuring European comfort food,” says Chef John Adams. Accentuating Nethercott’s trademark standard for using only the finest and freshest ingredients, this diverse menu allows for a quick bite or a more leisurely experience. Featured specials include Lefse, a traditional Norwegian potato crepe served with butter and sugar; an enticing daily Quiche, served with fruit salad, a Warm Wild Mushroom Salad served on a bed of spinach, gorgonzola, candied walnuts and truffle vinaigrette and a variety of entrée options ranging from Mussels steamed in a provincial saffron-tomato broth to selections of Eggs Benedict featuring Eggs A La Crossing with poached eggs, asparagus and proscuitto ham, topped with hollandaise sauce. The experience is rounded out with a wide selection of coffees and delicious homemade desserts created by Pastry Chef Julie Radmer. “Julie’s talents and presence are essential to the dynamics of our team,” Adams says. “Plus, flour makes me nervous,” he laughs, adding that he is pleased to alter his menu to help anyone with a special diet.

“Now there are no more debates over where to go for a business meeting in the morning or afternoon,” says Jim Nethercott. “Selecting the right restaurant to make a good impression in both business and social situations is very important to potential clients.”

Jim Nethercott’s café restaurants are the brand standard by which many other restaurant owners and chefs measure their performance. The new concept from Jim is a great addition to the line-up of Award Winning Restaurants. Jim has played a leading role in transforming Indy’s Northside fine dining reputation and patrons alongside local business owners are excited to have he and his dynamic team bring their talents to Keystone at the Crossing.
